What is Ear Candling?

Ear Candling is the process of removing ear wax and other unwanted debris from the ear by inserting a hollow candle into the ear canal. The candle itself is comprised of a muslin cloth covered in beeswax. Following the ear candling we will remove any build up at the entrance of the ear canal and finish off your treatment with warm garlic and mullein infused olive oil.

How does Ear Candling work?

The ear candling process begins with the insertion of the hollow beeswax candle into the ear canal to which the wider end of the candle is lit. Smoke will begin to enter the ear canal through the smaller end of the candle. Over time, the fire will gradually need more oxygen to remain lit. This will cause some ear wax and other dirt or waste to be drawn through the candle, bit by bit. As the ear wax becomes drier from the smoke, it will leave the ear canal in small spherical forms. Patients will be able to instantly feel relieved of any congestion in the ears.
